Ben Gurion Airport arrival guide
Landing at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) for the first time? Here is what happens between the aircraft door and your hotel, and how to make it faster.
Request a VIP quoteFrom the aircraft to passport control
Most international flights arrive at Terminal 3. After a walk through the arrivals corridor you reach passport control. Queues depend on how many flights land together, and peak waves can mean a long wait, especially when several wide-body flights arrive within the same hour. Have your passport and your onward details ready.
Before you fly, check the current entry requirements for your nationality on the official Israeli government sources, since rules and pre-travel authorisations change.
Baggage and customs
After passport control you go down to the baggage hall, collect your suitcases, and walk through the customs exit into the arrivals hall. Drivers and greeters wait there with name signs.
Getting to your hotel
- Train: Israel Railways runs from the airport to Tel Aviv and beyond. It does not run on Shabbat (from Friday afternoon until Saturday evening).
- Shared van (sherut): cheap, but it leaves when full and drops at several addresses.
- Taxi: available at the official rank. Agree on the fare method before you start.
- Private transfer: a fixed price, a driver with your name on a sign, and door-to-door service. See our airport transfers, for example Tel Aviv or Jerusalem.
How to skip the passport queue
Our VIP fast track puts a greeter at the aircraft door. They walk you through a priority lane at passport control, help with your bags and hand you to your driver. It is most useful for families with children, elderly travellers, late-night arrivals and anyone with a tight connection or a meeting.
Frequently asked questions
Which terminal do international flights use at Ben Gurion?
Most international flights use Terminal 3. Check your airline and your booking for the exact terminal on the day.
How long does passport control take?
It varies with how many flights land at the same time. It can be quick off-peak and much longer in busy waves, so plan buffer time for any onward connection.
Can I book a driver and the fast track together?
Yes. Add the VIP service to any transfer and we coordinate the greeter and the driver, both tracking your flight.
