Getting from Ben Gurion Airport to Jerusalem

Jerusalem is about 50 km from Ben Gurion Airport. These are your options, with honest pros and cons.

Book Jerusalem transfer

Your options

  • Private transfer: about 50 minutes in normal traffic, door to door. Our fixed price is $175 per Mercedes V-Class for 1 to 6 passengers. Details and booking.
  • Shared van (sherut): usually the cheapest per person. It waits to fill up and makes several drop-offs, so the total journey can be much longer.
  • Train and light rail or bus: workable if you travel light and arrive on a weekday. It involves a transfer, and public transport does not run on Shabbat.
  • Taxi: convenient, but check how the fare is calculated before departing.

Which is best for you?

For a family of three or more, a private transfer is often comparable in cost to several shared tickets, and it is much faster. If you arrive late at night or on Shabbat, it is usually the only comfortable option.

Good to know

  • Allow extra time on Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings, when Route 1 is busier.
  • Tell us your hotel or apartment address in advance. Some Old City addresses are pedestrian-only, and we will agree on the nearest drop-off point.
  • Combine your arrival with the VIP fast track to be in the car within about 25 minutes of landing.
